November Updates
Nothing much to report; cats are tucked in warm and cozy for the winter.
Will post kitten plans next month, we have some tentative ideas, but it will depend on cats!
Once plans are posted we will open our waiting list again. We will only be taking a few names as we do not breed excessively, preferring quality rather than quantity. If all goes well we should have our first 2018 kittens in the spring.
I will have some adults retiring next year as we reduce the size of our cattery. We will have a separate wait list for adults. However if you are thinking of a kitten and would consider an adult at the same time, let us know and we can offer you possible combinations.
For now, enjoy the rest of November and check back soon.

October update
Winter is coming.....
So, no kittens this year as Laska did not take :(
We will put our 2018 plans up early in the new year.
We have some British Shorthair adults available . Please contact us if you are looking for an older cat.
Also a young Siberian female has come available. Lagetha and her brother Floki went to live with Abida and family. Her brother settled but she has not, so is looking for a home without young children. For more details contact me and I will forward your details.
Our Neva masquerade site will be upgraded soon. Check out www.nevamasqueradecat.com next month.

It's July...just! New Cat Enclosure
Busy, busy busy!
As promised; some photos of our new outside cat-proof garden. It measures 50ft by 50ft! At the moment we have only grass (and a few weeds) but over the next twelve months we will be planting cat safe flora and fauna....
With thanks to my ever resourceful hubby, Fine Mesh Metals , Derek Fox Timber and Protectapet mesh we now have a great place for our cats to hang out.
So far tested with British Shorthair neuters, Siberian neuters and Siberian females...no escapes to date.
View of our existing stud pen with mesh top fence attached.
View of the shelter from outside the enclosure.
View from the gate
Detail of fixings
View from the shelter inside the enclosure...oh and a cat!
View of detail of overhang netting and homemade brackets
View of shelter complete with ivy!
Temporary climbing frame made from old coffee table, planks, blocks and dead tree.
View from opposite corner towards shelter.
If you are interested in how we made the enclosure, drop us an email. The total cost for land clear with digger, grass, poles, netting, brackets and shelter came to around £3000 for 2500 square feet of space (approx £1.20 square foot).

May Update
The sun is out! It does make you feel good....It also shows the cobwebs; time for a spring clean!
After a pretty hectic year, things around here are changing. Time is now a factor in everything I do and with a election looming, I just hope we get a government who represents the many and not the few.
Our cattery is undergoing a revamp. Whilst we are not having kittens we are currently working on a huge cat proofed garden 50 feet x 50 feet (thank you hubby). I will post some pictures soon.
In addition we will be decorating our kitten room over the summer holidays.
I still cannot decide on who to re-home; I love all my cats. It's a very difficult decision, but I promise to make some adults available soon. Thank you all those who have made inquires.
We will be updating our website with more cat and kitty pictures soon. You will then be able to see our focus and join Witchfyre & Witchstorm TNG (the next generation!).
If the work goes well on developing our facilities we are hoping for one litter later in the year. Watch this space.
We will also have news about a couple of new recruits joining us in the summer.
Take care
Shirley

Thoughts for 2017
Welcome to 2017
The changeover to the new year provokes reflective thoughts and inspiration for the year ahead. 2016 was a very busy year for us with family commitments. It raised the question "Where does time go?" which is often answered in a whisper, "I haven't a clue, but the sand in the egg timer seems to be disappearing fast"Rearing kittens with all the associated work is very time consuming; tending to the adult cats and meeting their needs is a labour of love. Both are becoming increasingly more expensive. The rewards, of course, are seeing healthy babies joining their happy families but on the downside there seems to be more and more time wasters - some don't even realise that they are doing it.
So the next question posed is "Do you have enough time?" and with this "When actually DO you stop?"
With some 'time out' much needed, increasing family commitments, a family visit from the other side of the world and a daughter's wedding, both in the summer, it is not practical to have kittens this year. On reflection we have had kittens every year since 2006 without a break. So with this knowledge we have decided to take a break from breeding in 2017.
We will also be reducing our cats and offering some older boys and girls up for adoption. Please note our criteria for adoption is at least the same as that for our kittens. Availability will be posted on here over the coming months. If you are looking for an older cat please contact us.
For those who have contacted me over the Christmas break; I will get to you over the next few days. Thanking you all for your continued interest in Witchfyre Siberians.
Regards
Shirley
